Dinner with a Sex Therapist

Relax… It’s Just Dinner and a Conversation

That’s exactly the inspiration behind Dinner with a Sex Therapist—a live, experiential event designed to normalize conversations about sex in a way that feels safe, human, and even a little fun.

Check out this quick trailer to see what a Dinner with a Sex Therapist event looks and feels like.

Why We Need a New Kind of Conversation

A woman in a red top speaks into a microphone while sitting on a bed with plush toys. A banner reads "Dinner with a Sex Therapist." People watch.

Here’s a sobering truth: about 73% of people don’t regularly talk about sex. When we avoid talking about intimacy, we don’t build the skills we need to navigate it. Instead, we end up avoiding it, misunderstanding our partners, or struggling silently. Dinner with a Sex Therapist is designed to gently change that narrative.

How It Works (The Simple Structure)

The format of this event is entirely intentional and structured to keep guests feeling comfortable and disarmed from start to finish:

  1. The Grounding Conversation (15–20 Mins): We kick things off with a short, approachable talk to set the tone and introduce the topic in a relatable, down-to-earth way.

  2. The Experiential Activity: Next, we move into an engaging activity. Rest assured, there is nothing explicit here! It is simply a way to help guests think, feel, and connect differently to the topic.

  3. The Anonymous Q&A: We almost always end with a question-and-answer session. For public events, guests write their questions on index cards and drop them into a box.

The Power of Anonymity

Open wooden box with colorful folded papers on table. Sign reads "Place Private Questions About Sex (Or Couples Stuff) in The Box."

That index card box isn’t accidental. Even in safe spaces, sex still feels taboo for many people. What’s fascinating is that guests often feel much more comfortable asking a vulnerable question anonymously and hearing it answered publicly than they ever would raising their hand. It says a lot about how our culture has shaped these conversations—but when you create the right environment, people open up in truly powerful ways.

Upcoming Collaborations & Events

I am incredibly excited to bring this unique format to two very different spaces with one shared mission: making sex education accessible, human, and engaging.

🎪 The Boom Boom Room (St. Louis)

I’m collaborating with St. Louis' premier burlesque show to blend high-energy entertainment with sex education into an evening that is playful, bold, and unforgettable.

🧠 The MMHCA Conference

I will also be bringing Dinner with a Sex Therapist to the Missouri Mental Health Counselors Association Conference. This gives mental health professionals a chance to experience this experiential work in a casual, connected format.

Relax. It’s Just Dinner and a Conversation.

The name Dinner with a Sex Therapist is meant to disarm you. It’s a reminder that you can talk about sex in public. You can laugh. You can learn. And you’re going to be okay.

This isn’t about shock value. It’s about creating a space where people feel safe enough to finally ask the questions they’ve been holding onto. And when that happens? Relationships improve, communication deepens, and people feel a lot less alone.

Bring "Dinner with a Sex Therapist" to Your Group

I work with all relationship types, all values, and all genders because everyone deserves access to better conversations about sex. If you are a conference organizer, business owner, church leader, or community organizer looking to bring something meaningful—and yes, a little different—to your group, let's talk.
